About Me (and the blog)

Posing With a Xiumin Cardboard Cutout

It’s times like this when I regret not being an avid fan of selfies. Instead, have this lovely picture that shows exactly how much of a K-Pop fangirl I am.

Hello! My name is Kelly and I’m a Chinese high-school sophomore. I’m pretty young but I’m making my way through the blogging world with a dance in my step. *badum tsk* Bad blog name pun I’m sorry XD

My blogging story

I made my blog after months of reading and perusing other book blogs. I made the plunge to start blogging in late August of 2014 and have been doing so since then. I’m still relatively new when it comes to graphics and blog layouts but I hope you will look past that while I learn and enjoy the content I write. πŸ™‚

The name of my blog comes from my love for dance and reading. I’m certainly not the best dancer out there but the joy I experience while dancing is like being able to express everything you feel through movement. Reading is kind of like that. When you’re reading, it’s kind of like you’re “dancing” through the pages. Hence, my blog name, Dancing Through the Pages. It’s cheesy but I love it.

So what can you expect from my blog?

Book-wise, I’ll post reviews, Top Ten Tuesdays, and some other book-related posts on here. I’ll also add some random posts about my daily life, music, current obsessions, etc in the form of my own Wrap-Up series Page Dancer Weekly.

I read a lot of YA books but honestly I’ll read almost anything. I really like reading contemporary, historical-fiction, and action-y books.

If you enjoy my posts, I’d definitely appreciate if you could follow, like, comment, etc. Do whatever you want! If you don’t like my posts, no biggie. Feel free to give me any feedback whether it’s about how ugly my shirt is or if it’s about the readability of my posts. I’m always looking to improve!

More about me~

I’m extremely laid-back and love books (duh).

I like reading, dancing, listening to music, and writing. Obviously, the first two on that list are the reason for my blog name. As for music… I am an avid fan of K-Pop, rock music, punk, screamo etc. etc. etc. My musical tastes vary a lot if you can’t tell already XD My posts may (see: most likely will) contain K-Pop gifs.

I also use way too many parentheses. I don’t know if you can tell from this specific bio, but when I’m writing posts, I use too many.

I’m a self-proclaimed fashionista that loves clothes too much (Random fact: My favorite high-end designer is Yves Saint Laurent!). While you won’t have to put up with posts about my outfits everyday, It’s likely that I’d throw in some random detail about shopping or outfits in a post here and there.

I’m also on social media so follow me there! I’m not super active but I’m trying to get used to using Twitter more. Oh, and my Facebook and Instagram are both my personal accounts and I’m definitely not active there but I’m hoping to make blog-related accounts in the future.

Twitter || Goodreads || Facebook || Instagram

Anyways, that’s about it! I hope you enjoy my blog!

  1. Hmmmm….. I’m more into K-pop than I am K-dramas because I lack the ability to ever commit to a tvshow. But one that I fell in love with and routinely get the urge to rewatch is Reply 1997. It’s a slice of life drama set in the 1997 (no duh) that talks about Korean life and pop culture during that era. The flashback format is a bit confusing in the beginning but it is so so funny. I ship the lead couple so hard and the characters are so likable (even the jerkfaces!). I also liked how the episodes in this drama were shorter than the average one. They started out at about thirty to forty minutes and get longer as the show progresses. This is a must watch for me.
Other dramas that I’ve watched and enjoyed (though I might not have finished) include Dream High (Kim Soohyun is hooooot), Moon Embracing the Sun (Again, Kim Soohyun is hoooooot), and School 2013. I have yet to finish the last two of the three listed but I will eventually. Happy watching! πŸ™‚
